Three segments of dry palm tree pod branches form a triangle. Typically, branches grow outward from a main trunk. By connecting these segments to each other, I am removing the matter from its natural orientation into a hybrid, rootless, yet circular growth where the branches are growing into one another. Sourced from my backyard, the base of each branch is layered with scales of thick, torn paper. The branches are painted with acrylic and enamel spray paint, which further removes them from their earthy, natural tones. The paint also preserves the organic matter for an extended life and creates an interplay of sheen and matte finishes.
