An abstract chess world is a mental landscape reflecting the paradoxical spaces of my practice. Like chess, it builds a system driven by its own logic. Made from cotton board, the self-standing panels form an uneven, overlapping terrain. gaps disrupting the expected unity of a 64-square board. A braided, hardened paper element, inspired by a boxing ring’s ropes, weaves through.
