Ladder Maze, 2025

In the book The Poetics of Space by Gaston Bachelard, staircases and vertical movement become pathways of reverie, with each step representing a psychological shift. In this sculpture I disrupts that logic by twisting the branching structure, no longer differentiating between what is up and what is down. The twisting reminds me of the scene in Shutter Island where structures fold in on themselves, existing as poetic impossibilities.
